Project Overview: Physical Rehabilitation & Clinical Recovery
In Hatay province, Türkiye, over 107,000 individuals suffered traumatic injuries in the 2023 disaster. Many survivors suffered permanent limb loss and lost their assistive mobility devices amidst the rubble.
In partnership with JDC (American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee) and local health authorities in Hatay and Reyhanli, Multifaith Alliance executed a comprehensive $250,000 recovery initiative combining clinical equipment upgrades for two major municipal hospitals with direct distribution of 215 specialized mobility aids.
Delivered Clinical & Mobility Assets
Key Project Components:
- 215 Mobility Aids Distributed: 50 high-performance electric wheelchairs, 65 manual wheelchairs, 50 medical walkers, and 50 crutches with user training and maintenance.
- Surgical & Anesthesia Systems: 2 complete surgical anesthesia machines, 1 diagnostic ultrasound system, and 3 video laryngoscopes.
- Diagnostic & Monitoring Units: 13 portable EKG devices, 4 patient monitoring systems, and 5 flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopes.
- Emergency Resuscitation & Warming: 3 automated external defibrillators, 3 precision infusion pumps, and 3 clinical patient warming units.
